I was surprised when my LinkedIn messages started to ping. They were anniversary congratulations. Wow - Engage Employment Solutions, LLC had completed its first year!
Truly when one door closes, another door opens! An autoimmune disease forced me to leave my HR Director position at a busy county mental health authority. I thought my life would be watching soap operas and going to medical appointments. However, what started out as helping family and friends with resumes and career coaching; quickly became a start-up business when my friend and former employer needed help with seasonal recruitment. Now 43 projects and a year later, I’ve served clients in 15 different states and abroad, in Canada, Chile, China, England, and Singapore.
EES has helped start-up businesses to large, international corporations with different recruitment projects. EES has helped college grads, experienced professionals, and even a couple of Juris Doctorates with resumes, mock job interviews, and career coaching.
True, I’m not making the money I once did, but the new adventures and friends made are so worthwhile. Even some special bonds that will last a lifetime!
Best business advice given to me – “Don’t fight to mold a business from what I want, instead be flexible enough to allow it to grow from what the customers want.”
Can’t wait to experience year 2’s adventures. My clients already have some new ideas for me. Join us as the business expands. Follow our community Facebook pages with Engage Employment Solutions @RigsNRoads and with Encore Employment for Seniors. The business may even expand to provide a network of HR professionals increasing our offered services. Not quite sure what the next year will bring, but what I am sure of - this business is here to help you - employers and job seekers to help meet your business and career goals.
Interviewers are impressed with candidates, who have done their homework. Find out all you can about the company you're interviewing with...go to their website; google for news about their company; find out what the company's current struggles and successes are.

If you work in an office, don't be afraid to tell your co-workers not to interrupt you. If you work at home, let your family & friends know what your office hours are. Don't accept additional tasks that you don't have time for.

Did you know 70% of employers claim that bright or trendy clothes are a turn off at an interview? BTW leggings are not considered positive work attire, especially for job interviews.
Whether that be making a major life change or just starting your week's work... let's get going and make it happen!
